The Last Week of School

Hello everyone - I hope that you are all having a great time at school. I cannot believe that the summer holidays are here already. I bet lots of mums and dads are saying the same thing too.

I just wanted to say how brilliant it has been coming in to school to see you all this year. I've really enjoyed sharing stories and answering your questions.

I hope you have a fantastic summer holiday an I hope to see lots of you next year. To those of you in Yr 6 - I hope you have a great time at secondary school. It's a whole new, big adventure and I'm sure you will love it.

If you get bored during the Summer Holiday, why not go to the library and join the Summer Reading Challenge. You can join online or at the library - it's free, and you get rewards for reading books... what could be better.

    1. Hi! It's great to hear from you... Is that the Michael Morpurgo book? I think it must be. I have read quite a few of his books, bit I haven't read that one. He's a really good storyteller.

    1. Hi Hannah, it's lovely to hear from you. I had a good summer holiday and hope you did too. I didn't really have a holiday as I was busy writing but we did have a few nice days away together with Marvin. Borrow Box is a great idea... I will have to listen to some books on there too.

    1. Hi Amelia, it's good to hear from you. I love reading (and writing poems) but I haven't read many for a while. Most of my reading and writing time gets taken up with stories at the moment. Perhaps I should write a rhyming story so that I get to do a bit of both.

    1. Hi Oliver, it's great to hear from you and to hear what you've been reading. It sounds like your brother is a fast reader. I read quite slowly and don't always have time to read many pages each day so it can take me quite a while to finish a book.

    1. Hi Hannah, it's wonderful to hear from you. I haven't read Nadia Shireen's Grimwood books but I think that would be a lot of fun to read - they look really good. An any book that has a party crow has got to be fun I think. I've just got a copy of the first two Dinosaur Heroes books and I will be posting them to school today, so you should see them at the end of the week. I will put a very little sneak peek on the blog today too...

    1. Hi Bonnie, and thank you for leaving a message. It's great to hear from you. I haven't read Cate Sheerwater's books but I bet they are great if you are interested in gymnastics. I think that it's really good if you can find books that are about something that interests you. I'm guessing that you like gymnastics???

    2. What book am I reading? Well, I have just started reading The Jackal's Graveyard (a Nile Adventure) - which has been written by my friend, Saviour Pirotta. It's an adventure story set in ancient Egypt at the time of the pharaohs - and it's great. I'm not just saying that because he is my friend - his books rally are great, and I will mention them on the blog page very soon.

    1. Hi Emily, sorry that I didn't reply to your message yesterday (and to your friend's messages - I just had to make a start on some new books that I'm working on).
It's great to hear what you're reading. The Lottie Brooks books really look, but I still haven't had chance to read one yet. I keep having spend my time doing research for books that I am writing. I'm doing a non-fiction book about the weather right now. I have also just started reading The Jackal's Graveyard (a Nile Adventure) - which has been written by my friend, Saviour Pirotta. It's an adventure story set in ancient Egypt at the time of the pharaohs - and it's great. I'll write about it and his other books soon on the blog / diary page.

  16. Hi, and thank you for leaving a message. It's great to hear that you loved Rising River Escape (but I still think it should have been called Rising River Rescue :-) ) I hope that you enjoy Carries War - that's a really famous book but I don't think I've actually read it. You'll have to let m know what you think of it.
