Hi everyone - I hope that you all enjoyed the Easter Holiday.
Did you read anything interesting?
I'm still busy working on my Dinosaur Heroes books - I've just finished writing book 2 - Pterosaur Trouble, and am about to start writing book 3 - Creatures from the Deep.
I know you've seen the rough covers for the books, but I thought you might like to have a look at the finished versions.
Alex has started working on the inside of book 1 - and I can tell you that it is looking fantastic. I can't wait to show you what he's done next time I see you.
What do you think of the finished covers?
Do you have a favourite?
I think mine is Creatures of the Deep - or it could be Terrifying T. Rex.
I am reading collected poems for children

Hi Bonnie, that sounds good. I love poetry collections and I had quite a few on my bookshelf at home when I was little. I still have some now that I'm not so little too.
DeleteHiya i have nearly finished reading Mr Stink. Are we having a copy of the books when you have done writing the books?? by vogue
ReplyDeleteHiya - it's good to hear that you've nearly finished Mr Stink. Sometimes it's sad when you get to the end of a book as you leave their little world. But the good thing is that you get to start another book and enter a whole new world filled with different characters and adventures.
DeleteThe first two Dinosaur Heroes books are being published in September, and yes... I will definitely send a copy of each of them to school as soon as I get them :-)
My favourite cover is creatures of the deep by vogue
ReplyDeleteHi Vogue - thanks for letting me know which cover is your favourite. I think that Creatures of the Deep is my favourite too. I still writing that book and have just got to the bit that's on the cover.
DeleteHi Damian the book that I am reading is called Fairy Chronicles by Alan G Gardner my uncle I didn't have a good Easter because i lost my step mum on Easter. By charlotte Ireland
ReplyDeleteOh Charlotte, I am so sorry to hear that. You didn't have a good Easter at all did you. I hope that reading Fairy Chronicles and being with your school friends is helping to cheer you up.
DeleteI love all of the covers by vogue
ReplyDeleteI like the sound of terrifying T.Rex
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed writing it Bonnie. I can't wait for it to be published in September. Then I will be able to share it with everyone in school.
DeleteAnd... I will probably read a little bit of it when I come to visit in a few weeks.
DeleteI think that you have done a incredible job with those covers I cant wait to see the whole book finished and published.
ReplyDeleteAlex, the illustrator is really good. I described what I thought would look good on the covers and he did a fantastic job of drawing them. The illustrations that he has done for the insides are really good too. It's always exciting to see a book coming together after you have written it.
DeleteI love all the books they are all amazing its very hard but the one i love the most is Terrifying T Rex.
ReplyDeleteIt's quite an exciting cover isn't it. I love the way that the vehicle and the T.Rex are almost charging off the cover.
DeleteCretures of the deep
ReplyDeleteI really like that too. I wouldn't want to be in a mini sub if there was a plesiosaur swimming around. It'd be very scary...
Deletethe lost voys book
ReplyDeleteMy most favourite front cover is TERRIFYING T-REX. My favourite thing about the cover is the fling mud. by HARPER YSGOL CEFN MERIADOG
ReplyDeleteHi Harper... the flying mud really makes it look as though the all terrain vehicle is travelling very fast doesn't it.
DeleteMy favourite dinosaur front cover is Dinosaur heroes Creatures Of The Deep. By Ezra Ysgol Cefn Meiriadag.
ReplyDeleteThat's my favourite one too Ezra. I'm just half way through writing that book and it's lots of fun. I need to get on with it though as it is being published in December. Most books take longer than that to be published so this is very quick.
Deletemy favourite one is the first one because i love T-rexs from Oliver Y6 Ysgol Cefn Meririadog
ReplyDeleteHi Oliver... great to hear from you. I think the Tyrannosaurus rex is the most popular dinosaur. Mo, one of the boys in the book, loves dinosaurs - but I think he starts to feel a little differently after being chased by them :-)
DeleteThe book I am reading now is Harry Potter and the philosiphers stone. My favourite book is Harry Potter and the prisoner of Askaban. Before I go I have a recomendation you should write a Harry Potter book but instead of Harry Potter it should be Remus Lupin. Remus lupin is a professor at Hogwarts and at full moon he is a ware wolf. HARPER YSGOL CEFN MERIADOG
ReplyDeleteHi Harper... I enjoyed reading the Harry Potter books too. It would be really interesting to have a book with Lupin as the main character. I don't think that J K Rowling would let me write about her characters though. I would have to create my own werewolf character and give them a different name. Lupin is a great name for a werewolf because is comes from the word 'lupus' which is the Latin word for wolf.
DeleteThe book I am reading is holes by Louis Sachar i really like this book and my favourite book is hachet By Oliver Y6 at Ysgol Cefn Meiriadog.
ReplyDeleteHi Oliver - Holes is a really good book... I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. It's great to hear that Hatchet is your favourite book. It's great to have a teacher that knows about books and can share one that you might never have read yourself.
DeleteMy favourite book is Dog Man The Scarlet shedder. the book I'm reading is Dog Man Brawl of the wind. By Ezra Ysgol Cefn Meiriadog.
ReplyDeleteHi Ezra, I'm going to ask Vicky (my wife) to bring me Dog Man the Scarlet Shedder home from the library because Marvin (our little puppy) thinks it sounds like a good book.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite book is global heroes :]
